Development Officer (Part-Time / 3 days per week)

The Genesis Programme (with Louth Leader Partnership as Lead Agency) is seeking to recruit a part-time Development Officer (3 days per week) to coordinate the delivery of the Incredible Years Teacher Classroom Management (TCM) Programme and the KiVa Anti-Bullying Programme through primary schools in Monaghan, subject to funding.

Purpose of the Role

The role of the position is to support the delivery and implementation of The Incredible Years TCM Programme and The KiVa Anti-Bullying Programme in primary schools in Co. Monaghan as part of a Peace IV project (subject to funding).Group Leader Training in TCM and KiVa will be provided.

Principal Roles & Responsibilities

  • To develop positive working relationships with management and staff of primary schools in Co. Monaghan
  • To promote the introduction and implementation of The Incredible Years Teacher Classroom Management Programme and The KiVa Anti-Bullying Programme in primary schools in Co. Monaghan
  • To promote both programmes with parents of children attending these schools
  • To coordinate the required training to teachers in the primary schools
  • To deliver the training in both programmes to teachers in the primary schools
  • To support the teachers in implementing both programmes in the primary schools
  • To record and monitor the implementation of both programmes
  • To gather evaluation materials pre and post programme and to analyse this data and report on findings as required
  • To maintain records of all personnel trained in both programmes
  • To attend all team meetings and attend management meetings if required to do so
  • To be aware and conscious of the importance of achieving best outcomes for children in all aspects of your work and to inform and monitor these outcomes
  • To provide monthly progress reports incorporating outcomes for children and schools
  • To present and represent The Genesis Programme when required to do so
  • Engage in training as and when required by The Genesis Programme
  • Work closely with the existing team and structures of The Genesis Programme

Person Specification

  • A third level degree in relevant discipline
  • Must have own transport and a full clean driving licence
  • An understanding and knowledge of The Incredible Years suite of programmes and The KiVa Anti-Bullying Programme
  • A proven background and experience in delivering training to adults
  • Excellent group facilitation skills
  • An understanding of capacity building and developing initiatives in green field sites
  • An understanding and experience of working collaboratively
  • An understanding of the primary education system
  • Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills including negotiation and diplomacy skills
  • A commitment to prevention and early Intervention initiatives
  • Ability to work on own initiative and also as part of a team
  • The ability to maintain attention to detail at all times and assure quality standards
  • Be competent in core ICT functions including MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher and Excel
  • Ability to solve problems, to think outside the box, challenge existing ways of thinking and behaving; create imaginative new approaches
  • Be a people person and have excellent skills in relationship building
  • Excellent written and verbal communication

Terms and Conditions

€26,758 (gross) per annum working 3 days per week

Location

The majority of the work will take place in Co. Monaghan. The Genesis Programme has offices in Dundalk and Drogheda.
